Spent a somewhat restless night and finally got up about 5:00am.
Did my final chores, loaded the bike and hit the highway north about 6:30am.
As you can see, it was just before sunrise.
Made good time out of Florida after fueling up both tanks so I was able to go about 400 miles before needing to stop for more fuel.....actually 389 miles at Athens, Alabama.
Not many bikes on the road but did find one. Not really on the road so to speak.
Had a 45 minute slowdown just south of Birmingham and another in Nashville but still made good time. Had a bit of rain at Nashville that cooled things off so it was worth it. The temperature was cool and overcast until the Tennessee/Alabama line and then it heated up to 85 degrees and sunny.
Arrived at the Comfort Inn near Fort Campbell, Ky. at about 3:00 pm local time.
Just relaxing a bit and then getting some supper.
Done for today....534 miles from home.
On to Brookfield, Wisconsin tomorrow.

Trip Planning For the Ride
LeRoy and I have been planning this ride to Alaska for several months. LeRoy was able to get enough time off from his position as a boat show exposition setup/driver for Yamaha. I have been pretty much retired for quite a while and so we both agreed to make the trip.
LeRoy and I have been riding together for many years between street bikes and dirt bikes. He recently purchased a 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Adventure Bike and that is what he will ride on this trip.
I will be riding my 2012 Triumph Explorer Adventure Bike.
We are going to meet at my brother Al and Judy's home in Brookfield, Wisconsin (just a bit west of Milwaukee) and actually leave on June 12th, 2017 for Alaska. I am going to leave a bit earlier and so some family bonding but getting excited to get going.
I will not be sending out regular update posts until we get on the road but I wanted to get this thing going and let you folks know what is going on.
Done for today.
